Salary is DOE, target is ~125-150k+ and 5% bonus

Summary:
Senior manager responsible for assisting the Controller with directing all accounting activities of the organization, including overseeing daily and monthly accounting transactions for all entities, supporting SEC reporting, board, and regulatory reporting. This position reports to the Controller (SVP) and has 5+ direct reports.

Required Skills/Experience:
• Certified Public Accountant
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Team Management experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and financial regulatory reporting requirements
• Experience in developing and maintaining strong internal controls over financial reporting
• Technical background in financial statement research, preparation, and reporting
• Financial Services Industry experience
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other accounting software

Responsibilities:
• Accounting and Financial Reporting
o To assist the SVP, Controller with the following responsibilities:
o Provide leadership to and review recurring, and adhoc accounting work prepared by the core accounting team, including monthly financial statements, board reports, board presentations and all regulatory reports
o Manage the monthly closing of the financials including account analysis and reconciliations ensuring financial statements and reports are in compliance with GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements
o Review the processing of payables and staff expense reports
o Assist with preparation of the SEC 10-Q and 10-K financial statements and provide financial explanations
o Prepare and review monthly variance analyses on a departmental basis to ensure proper income and expense classification, providing explanation for significant or unusual items
o Develop, communicate, and monitor new accounting policies impacting operations of business and ensure that policies are compliant with GAAP and regulatory financial reporting requirements
o Perform research on new accounting pronouncements and ensure appropriate compliance. Must possess the ability to write accounting technical memorandums.
o Assist in scoping, design, implementation, documentation and continuous improvements of processes and internal controls
o Develop and perform ad hoc analyses to support new processes, policies, initiatives, and procedures
o Assist internal and external auditors in meeting their audit objectives
• Management Leadership
o Manage and training of accounting staff, providing cross-training opportunities to ensure ongoing operations and reporting timeliness in planned or unplanned staff absences
o Manage month-end closing schedule to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
o Responsible for ensuring proper accounting controls, processes, systems, and personnel are in place to safely and effectively grow the organization
o Ensure adequate training and oversight is provided to all accounting personnel to ensure the appropriate tools are provided to complete job responsibilities
o Contribute to a work environment that supports the career development and growth of the accounting team members
• General
o Maintain current knowledge of all Federal and State Laws and Regulations, along with all Company’s policies and procedures
o Not to harm consumers with any act that could be misleading, unfair, deceptive, or abusive in act or practice

• Supervisory Responsibilities
o Directly supervises the accounting staff
o Frequently interacts with senior divisional managers in analyzing divisional financial performance against budget, determining proper expense allocation, developing/maintaining financial internal control processes, answering general accounting/reporting questions, and administering financial policies
• Job Dimensions
o Responsible for managing all accounting processes related to supporting the preparation of the Company’s internal and external financial statements
o Responsible for assessing the accounting department’s needs and assisting with a plan and budget to meet such needs
• Bank Secrecy Act Requirements
o Responsible for adhering to the reporting and recordkeeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, observing economic sanctions by prohibiting transactions as specified by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), following the bank’s customer identification program (CIP) rules, observing all Company policies and procedures relating to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and related acts, and participation in ongoing related training.
